Lame excuses

What I said: ‘But everybody else does it’
What I meant: ‘I have the right to be just as stupid as other people.’

What I said: ‘Don’t you pretend you’ve never considered doing it!’
What I meant: ‘I have the right to actually do the stupid things, you may only have considered doing (and consciously chosen not to do)’

What I said: ‘But I’ve been doing it till now’
What I meant: ‘I know it’s wrong, but I will keep doing it, even though the present circumstances are anything but ideal.’

What I said: ‘But I was at the wrong place at the wrong time’
What I meant: ‘It’s not just that I failed in the situation, I also brought myself into that very situation where I knew that I would most definitely fail’

What I said: ‘But I’m so weak, and temptation was so strong’
What I meant: ‘I’m only the soulless product of genes and environment, so don’t blame me for what I’m doing. It’s not like I’m the least responsible for my actions.’
